OVERVIEW OF THE ORGANIZATION
We are a branch of the Association which was founded in 1941 by Polish engineers who
arrived in Canada during World War II. The mandate of the Association is to serve the
community of Polish professionals with a background in the field of technology. For
example, the association servers as a forum for an information exchange on various topics,
members help each other to integrate into Canadian society by exchanging experiences in
job hunting, purchasing property and other necessary aspects of life. The Association also
works with other organizations, primairly in Canada and in Poland. It is also the
intention of the Association to represent and voice the needs and concerns of Polish
technical professionals in Canada to both Polish and Canadian government bodies.
Members of the Association can be persons with a technical education (on a secondary or
post-secondary level), persons working in a technical field, as well as persons with
non-technical degrees.
Branches of the Association of Polish Engineers in Canada currently exist in the following

The Kitchener Branch of the Association of Polish Engineers in Canada was founded in 1991
with the purpose of serving the Polish community residing in the "Golden
Triangle" area, namely, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph. These three cities
were represented among the founding members of the Kitchener Branch and although the
members keep changing, new members join, some members leave (e.g. due to changing jobs),
this branch is still made up of members from the three cities which make up the Golden
Triangle region, as well as some cities from outside the region.
The members of the Branch represent various professional backgrounds. Apart from persons
with a technical education, there are members representing the fields of physics,
mathematics, microbiology as well as law.
The main form of the activities of the Branch are monthly meetings at which talks on various topics are given. The meetings take place on the second Monday of each month, at the Polish Legion in Kitchener at 601 Wellington Street North, at 7:30 p.m., everyone is welcome. There is a wide range of topics for the talks which are given, in the past the topics have ranged from technical issues, medicine, history, financial planning. After the talks there is a social aspect of the meeting, allowing the members to get to know each other and to discuss things of interest.
Apart from the meetings we also organize trips to manufacturing facilities, art galeries or other places of interest to the members. Also, a tradition has developed that on the last Sunday in September we have an end of summer picnic. Similarly, a Christmas/New Year dinner takes place in January.
All activities of the branch are open to the public, everyone is welcome. We would like to invite you to join us.
